EPEV Senedd Trip 2025

We were delighted to spend a meaningful and energising day in Cardiff with passionate mentees and mentors from the EPEV programme.

The day began with an inspiring talk and Q&A from Mark Isherwood MS, who offered valuable insights into public service and leadership. This was followed by former mentee (now mentor) Dee Montague-Coast, who shared their journey through the EPEV programme, the opportunities it opened up for them, and what they’ve gone on to achieve since completing the programme. Hearing firsthand the success of alumni, and how they are now giving back to the next generation was a real highlight.

After a networking lunch full of thoughtful conversation and new connections, the group had the opportunity to observe democracy in action. We began by watching the First Minister’s Questions via live stream; a chance to see the debates and decision-making process unfold in real time. We then concluded the day with a guided tour of the Senedd.

It was a pleasure to spend time with those involved in the programme, supporting them to deepen their understanding of public life in Wales and opening doors to meaningful future opportunities. Days like this remind us of the power of connection, mentorship, and representation, and the vital role initiatives like EPEV play in building a more inclusive democracy.
