“As a new migrant to Wales, I have had to overcome many barriers including language, culture, social structure and more. That’s why I have never imagined myself working for the Welsh Local Government Association as a strategic migration partnership officer just after two years of settlement. Without the experience that I gained in EPEV programme, I would not have achieved this.

Through the programme, I joined a series of training sessions and got a deep understanding of the structure and working of social organisations and council; I visited BBC Wales, Senedd and Westminster, met MSs and MPs and spoke out for my people; I communicated with other mentees and start to build up my own network in my new home. These are all precious experiences that I gained from nowhere but EPEV programme.

The EPEV programme makes me feel listened to and respected. It offers inclusion, supporting cultural empowerment and prepares minorities to stand up and speak out. This is particularly critical to new migrants as we really need this kind of support for adjustment and settlement.

I truly recommend anyone who wants to take step forward for personal growth or social improvement to join EPEV programme. Change might be little, but once it starts, it won’t stop”.

“Fel mewnfudwr newydd i Gymru, bu’n rhaid i mi oresgyn llawer o rwystrau, gan gynnwys iaith, diwylliant, strwythur cymdeithasol a mwy. Dyna pam na fuaswn i erioed wedi dychmygu fy hun yn gweithio i Gymdeithas Llywodraeth Leol Cymru fel swyddog partneriaeth ymfudo strategol, ychydig ar ôl dwy flynedd ar ôl cyrraedd. Heb y profiad a gefais gyda rhaglen EPEV, ni fuaswn wedi cyflawni hyn.

Drwy’r rhaglen, ymunais â chyfres o sesiynau hyfforddi, a chael dealltwriaeth ddofn o strwythur a gwaith sefydliadau cymdeithasol a chynghorau; Ymwelais â BBC Cymru, y Senedd a San Steffan, cwrdd ag ASau ac Aelodau Seneddol, a siarad dros fy mhobl; Fe wnes i gyfathrebu â mentoreion eraill, a dechrau adeiladu fy rhwydwaith fy hun yn fy nghartref newydd. Mae’r rhain i gyd yn brofiadau gwerthfawr a gefais o’r rhaglen EPEV.

Mae’r rhaglen EPEV yn gwneud i mi deimlo fel bod rhywun yn gwrando arnai, ac fel fy mod yn cael fy mharchu. Mae’n cynnig cynhwysiant, yn cefnogi grymuso diwylliannol, ac yn paratoi cymunedau lleiafrifol i sefyll i fyny a chodi eu llais. Mae hyn yn arbennig o hanfodol i ymfudwyr newydd, gan fod wir angen y math hwn o gefnogaeth arnom er mwyn addasu a setlo.

‘Dwi wir yn argymell unrhyw un sydd eisiau camu ‘mlaen ar gyfer twf personol neu welliant cymdeithasol i ymuno â’ rhaglen. Mae newid yn gallu bod yn fach, ond does dim stop ar ôl dechrau.

Efallai y bydd yn cymryd oes i chi ennill y loteri, ond yn sicr, gallwch newid eich bywyd gydag EPEV mewn blwyddyn”.
